Pricing
Free today, and honest about what comes next.
Qlemi is free while it is in development. No card, no trial clock, no feature held back. That is not a promotion, it is that the tool is not finished enough to charge for.
What will change
Reading aloud and dictation cost real money per minute, paid to the companies that provide them. At some point that has to be covered, so credits are coming. Two things about how they will work, decided now so there is no surprise later.
You pay to generate, not to listen
Audio is made once and cached. Playing a chapter you have already heard is free, forever, however many times you play it. Only new or changed paragraphs cost anything.
Top up, do not subscribe
Writers buy Scrivener once. The cost of Qlemi is bursty rather than monthly, mostly the first pass through a book, so a balance you top up fits it better than a recurring charge.
Roughly what it will cost
Credits will be counted in minutes of generated audio, because that is a unit a writer can feel. To put a size on it: a 24,000 word manuscript is about two and a half hours of speech. A finished 100,000 word novel is around eleven hours.
Generating those once is the expense. After that, revising thirty paragraphs a day regenerates only those thirty, which is a rounding error next to the first pass.
New accounts will start with enough credit to hear a short book through once, so you can judge the tool by using it rather than by reading this page.
What stays free
- Writing, editing and organising your manuscript.
- The codex, plot threads, timeline and notes.
- Import from Word, Markdown or plain text, and export to docx or epub, always.
- Playing audio that has already been generated.
No lock-in
Your book exports to docx or epub whenever you want, with no conditions and no export fee. Nobody should move a hundred thousand words into a tool built by one person without a way back out.
This page will be updated before a single payment is taken, and the privacy page and terms along with it.
